About the position

The Summer Associate Intern at Hines is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in real estate investment and development. This role involves assisting senior management with various aspects of projects, including financial analysis, project management, and asset management. Interns will have the opportunity to work on feasibility studies, financing, design, and construction management, while also engaging in tenant and investor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior management with real estate investment and development projects.
  • Provide administrative and financial support to ensure project completion.
  • Participate in the management of development projects including feasibility analysis and entitlement processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis of acquisitions and development opportunities using Argus and Excel.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules for variances and oversee contractor payments.
  • Assist in leasing properties and review lease documents with legal counsel.
  • Facilitate marketing of projects to investors and ensure proper documentation of project agreements.
  • Monitor project design information flow among stakeholders.
  • Work with personnel to design and implement marketing plans.
  • Develop awareness of market opportunities and support project design activities.
  • Serve as a member of various project teams as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA strongly preferred.
  • Three or more years of work experience with a professional organization.
  • Two or more years of related experience in real estate or financial analysis.
  • Ability to analyze real estate and industry trends strategically.
  • Strong numerical and financial calculation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Strong initiative and integrity.
