About the position

The Summer Associate Program at Navy Federal Credit Union is a 12-week internship designed for students pursuing degrees in fields such as Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related areas. This program will commence in May 2025 and conclude in August 2025. Interns will engage in impactful projects that contribute to the organization while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic environment. The internship aims to provide students with meaningful work that enhances their professional development and prepares them for future careers in analytics and data management. During the internship, associates will be responsible for retrieving, analyzing, and validating data to ensure the accuracy of reported results. They will analyze and summarize various types of data, including business operations, customer, and economic data, to improve business intelligence and optimize operational effectiveness. Collaboration with business operations partners and senior management will be essential to conduct needs assessments that support the objectives of different business units. Interns will also be expected to effectively communicate data outcomes to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring that insights are actionable and aligned with business goals. Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, analyze, and validate data and test accuracy of reported results.
  • Analyze and summarize business operations, customer, and/or economic data to improve business intelligence and optimize operating effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with business operations partners and senior management to conduct needs assessments to support business unit objectives.
  • Effectively communicate data outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Analytics, or other related degree.
  • Experience with research, analysis, and data validation.
  • Experience with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like Databricks or Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with ambiguous problems.
