About the position

The Summer Associate position within the Procurement and Vendor Management (PVM) team at Navy Federal is a 12-week internship program designed for students pursuing degrees in relevant fields. The role involves supporting procurement functions through communications and training initiatives, working on impactful projects that contribute to the department's operations. The position offers a flexible and hybrid work environment, with opportunities to collaborate on various tasks aimed at enhancing internal and external communications, as well as developing training resources.

Responsibilities

  • Support PVM with internal and external communications campaigns.
  • Assist with the development and management of PVM town halls, communications, script writing, and proofreading.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure consistency in tone, accuracy, and clarity.
  • Review PVM communications for alignment with Navy Federal tone and branding.
  • Assist Communications Strategist in the development, design, and layout of newsletters, blog posts, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist in the design and development of training resources such as job aids, technical guides, guided walkthroughs, videos, and other interactive deliverables as needed.
  • Assist the LSA in development, design, and evaluations of learning materials.
  • Review and research the effectiveness of training, communication, and change management activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Studying adult education/learning theory, communication, graphic design, and/or related field.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Basic skills with word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and organize visual concepts and create conceptual approaches and solutions.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective English grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment.
