The Summer Associate position at Navy Federal Credit Union is designed to provide an opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Data Analytics or a related field to gain practical experience in system analysis and business process enhancement. The role involves coordinating and conducting basic system analyses through data acquisition and modeling, with a focus on identifying, documenting, and implementing business requirements that enhance business systems. The associate will work closely with business operations and processes under supervision, analyzing business needs to develop and implement solutions that leverage technology and improve business processes. In this role, the Summer Associate will collaborate with team members on the SMD System, Application, and Service Mapping initiative, which includes stakeholders from various departments such as InfoSec and Operational Building Blocks. Responsibilities will include identifying and documenting data fields and configurations exchanged between systems and applications, assisting in the completion of the data dictionary for SMD, and identifying opportunities to improve data handling and quality. The associate will also assist in creating measurement plan templates for new systems and applications, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations. The position requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and exposure to statistical methods, mathematical techniques, and analytical tools. Familiarity with data querying, reporting, and operations research is essential, along with basic knowledge of SQL and VBA database languages. The associate will be expected to perform research and analysis, develop and maintain solution documentation, and collaborate with teammates across the enterprise to plan and coordinate software changes and releases.
