About The Position

The Summer Intern in EWR Airside Operations at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will work within the Aviation Department at Newark Liberty International Airport. This internship focuses on understanding FAA regulations, stakeholder engagement, and developing critical thinking skills related to airfield operations, maintenance, and construction activities. Interns will gain hands-on experience in ensuring safety and efficiency in airport operations while collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
• Major in Aviation, Aeronautical Sciences, Aircraft Operations, or related field
• Rising junior or senior

Responsibilities

• Create an aircraft and airside parking billing and reconciliation program
• Produce standard operating procedures and training documentation to ensure operational continuity
• Create spreadsheets and graphs to trend safety incidents and airfield deficiencies
• Investigate technologies to enhance training techniques and programs
• Assist management with day-to-day operations of the facility, including airfield condition surveys, construction management, stakeholder engagement, site risk assessments, SharePoint site development, and emergency response
