About the position

The Summer Intern in Investments - Fixed Income Credit Research at RGA is designed for students pursuing degrees in finance, accounting, or economics. This role provides exposure to the investment department of an insurance company, focusing on credit analysis and investment opportunities. Interns will work closely with senior credit analysts, gaining hands-on experience in evaluating portfolio holdings and learning the fundamentals of credit research within the context of asset liability management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing fundamental credit analysis through in-depth company and industry analysis.
• Evaluate and monitor existing portfolio holdings.
• Identify new investment opportunities with attractive risk/return characteristics.
• Gather information on specific industries and report findings to the team.
• Learn to build financial statement models used in credit research.
• Participate in cross-functional projects as time permits.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the Junior, Senior or Graduate level in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related degree program at an accredited US University.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Technology savvy with programming and process improvement/automation skills.
• Creative thinker and self-motivated.
