About the position

The Summer Intern - Operator Support position at Grocery Outlet offers students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in a corporate environment while contributing to meaningful projects that impact Independent Operators. Interns will engage in hands-on project management, communication, and cross-functional teamwork, working closely with the Store Support team and reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Operator Initiatives. This 10-week paid internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of the business and foster professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support process improvement efforts by researching, gathering data, collaborating with various departments and operators.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, project updates, and communication for internal stakeholders and the Operator community.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify challenges and develop solutions.
  • Help analyze project outcomes and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the development of training materials and tools for operators and AOTs.
  • Engage with various stores and departments to understand the Independent Operator experience.
  • Build relationships, learn as much as possible, and have fun.

Requirements

  • New Graduate, Rising Senior or Master's Student enrolled in an accredited program as of June 2024.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to think critically and use creative ways to solve problems.
  • Strong presentation skills with fact-based points of view.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other programs such as Salesforce, Asana, Lucid, etc.
  • Self-motivated with an interest in project management, process improvement, and launching new initiatives.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management or process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of grocery retail operations.
