About the position

The Summer Intern - Project Engineer position at J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in project management within the civil, heavy, and utility construction sectors. Interns will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to support the planning and execution of various construction projects, while also managing project documentation and maintaining schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside Project Managers and Superintendents to properly plan and execute various construction projects
• Take ownership of project documentation such as change orders, RFIs, production logs, etc.
• Maintain project schedules, budget/costs and all related reporting
• Daily operation of the field office
• Act as the point of contact for other contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
• Prepare and submit client submittals, vendor invoices, and other miscellaneous items
• Effectively develop engineering solutions to project issues
• Maintain strong relations with clients
• Gain real construction project/work exposure, blending field and office experiences

Requirements

• Prior relatable work experience preferred - landscaping, home repairs, construction, work with hands
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Outstanding computer skills including the MS Office suite of products, specifically Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively within the company, with clients, and with field personnel is essential
• Valid, clean driver's license needed
