About the position

The Office of International Services (OIS) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Sunapsis Systems Analyst to join their team. This high-level analytical position is crucial for coordinating and assisting in the development and implementation of functional solutions to immigration issues and initiatives. The Sunapsis Systems Analyst will play a key role in the analysis, evaluation, maintenance, and customization of Sunapsis, the database and casework management system used by the office. The primary responsibilities of this role include problem resolution and optimizing existing functionality within the system. In this position, the analyst will leverage technology to ensure operational efficiency, improve business processes, streamline workflows, and make recommendations to better utilize University systems to support various functions. The Sunapsis Systems Analyst will collaborate with office teams to evaluate business needs and processes, recommending and implementing complex solutions within Sunapsis. This role involves working closely with the Pitt international community, staff, and internal OIS personnel to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the Sunapsis platform. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for quality control and relevant reporting within the Sunapsis database. The Sunapsis Systems Analyst will develop queries and reports using software and tools to extract, store, and analyze data from the Sunapsis environment, supporting and enhancing business processes, planning, and decision-making. This includes creating necessary reports for Open Doors, special requests, and public reports. The analyst is expected to be familiar with OIS services and processes, as well as U.S. immigration requirements, to proactively propose effective solutions rather than merely responding to requests. Furthermore, the analyst will serve as a liaison between the University system user population, central IT, and third-party vendor user populations for issue identification and resolution. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in computer or information sciences and have a proven track record as a systems analyst or Sunapsis administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business needs and processes to recommend and implement complex solutions in Sunapsis.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the Sunapsis platform for all users.
  • Develop queries and reports to extract, store, and analyze data from the Sunapsis environment.
  • Create necessary reports for Open Doors, special requests, and public reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between University system users, central IT, and third-party vendors for issue identification and resolution.
  • Maintain a reliable, highly available application environment through monitoring and testing updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer or information sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a systems analyst or Sunapsis administrator.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to serve as a DSO/ARO in SEVIS.
  • Expertise in SEVIS batch systems, SQL, and system customizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of immigration processes and requirements is preferred.
