About the position

The Direct Care Worker (DCW) at Family Care Home Health Agency, LLC is responsible for providing personal care and support to consumers in a home health setting. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring consumer health, and ensuring a safe and dignified environment for individuals, particularly the elderly and those with cognitive impairments. The position can be part-time, full-time, or per diem, offering flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care as directed by the Staffing Coordinator.
• Assist consumers with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and housekeeping functions.
• Observe each consumer and report any changes in their condition to the Staffing Coordinator.
• Provide restorative or rehabilitative nursing services under supervision, including assistance with toileting and mobility.
• Prevent the spread of infection and skin breakdown for consumers.
• Assist with meal service and monitor consumer intake of food and fluids.
• Respond to emergencies as directed by the Staffing Coordinator.
• Maintain cleanliness in consumers' living areas and personal care supplies.
• Engage consumers in activities when not performing other duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience in a healthcare or social service setting.
• Completion of nursing assistant requirements as per the Department of Education.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with elderly individuals or those with cognitive impairments.
• Ability to work unscheduled days and hours.
• Sensitivity to the needs of consumers' families.
