About the position

Sunglass Hut is a global leader in the sale of premium sunglasses, boasting over 1600 retail stores across North America. The Assistant Manager II plays a crucial role in the leadership team, working closely with the Store/Multi Store Manager to ensure the store operates smoothly and successfully. This position involves overseeing daily functions such as sales, coaching, merchandising, talent acquisition, and maintaining retail excellence. The Assistant Manager II is expected to utilize various company tools to meet sales targets, develop associates, and achieve overall company objectives. In this role, the Assistant Manager II will spend a significant amount of time on the sales floor, engaging with customers and building relationships to enhance the shopping experience. They will also be responsible for maintaining store merchandising standards and ensuring that all operational policies and procedures are followed. The Assistant Manager II will provide ongoing coaching to associates, fostering a motivating work environment that encourages personal and professional growth. Additionally, they will be involved in talent acquisition, utilizing networking and recruiting skills to bring in new team members. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can think critically to execute operational components effectively. The Assistant Manager II will also stay updated on product knowledge and company learning tools to ensure they are informed about the latest fashion and performance sunglasses. This role is essential for driving the success of Sunglass Hut and ensuring that the brand's standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes all company tools to deliver sales plan, develop associates and achieve company objectives.
  • Utilizes reporting tools and business acumen to identify and address gaps in performance and capitalize on successes.
  • Provides ongoing coaching for all associates that supports their growth and development while creating an inspirational and motivating work environment.
  • Acquires talent by utilizing networking and recruiting skills and conducting interviews in partnership with the Store/Multi Store Manager.
  • Seeks out opportunities for self-development as defined in an individual development plan.
  • Spends a majority of the time on the sales floor.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships by maximizing all company tools.
  • Consistently executes the brand standards.
  • Maintains store merchandising standards including any updates or changes.
  • Knows product knowledge and uses company learning tools to stay current on new products in both fashion and performance.
  • Ensures execution of operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensures clear communication to their team of brand strategy including all promotions, contests and incentives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Demonstrates expertise in every aspect of store operation
  • Detail-oriented
  • Uses critical thinking to deliver absolute execution of the operational components of the store.
