About the position

As a Super Market Process Engineer at MAU, you will be instrumental in enhancing the organization and efficiency of the supermarket operations within our client’s facility in Greenville, SC. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing visual management standards that will streamline processes and improve material flow. You will be tasked with maintaining existing material storage systems while also spearheading layout improvements to ensure that materials are easily accessible and efficiently organized. Your contributions will directly impact the operational effectiveness of the supermarket, making it a critical position within the organization. In this role, you will develop and implement new visual management standards, which include creating shadow bins and labeling systems that facilitate easy identification and retrieval of materials. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Leaders to design and prototype innovative visual management solutions tailored to the supermarket environment. Analyzing the current layout of the supermarket will be essential, as you will identify opportunities for improvement in material flow, accessibility, and overall efficiency. Your expertise will guide the development and execution of plans aimed at optimizing the supermarket layout, including the design of racks, staging areas for large parts, and storage solutions for empty carts and bins. This position is a long-term contract assignment, and you will be expected to implement new layouts effectively, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal utilization of the space. Your role will also involve performing other tasks as required, contributing to the overall success of the supermarket operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new visual management standards for the supermarket, including shadow bins and labeling systems.
  • Ensure supermarket bins adhere to established visual management standards, facilitating easy identification and retrieval of materials.
  • Collaborate with ME/Ops Leaders to design and create prototypes for new visual management solutions within the supermarket.
  • Analyze current supermarket layout to identify opportunities for improvement in material flow, accessibility, and overall efficiency.
  • Develop and execute plans for optimizing the layout of the supermarket, including rack design, large part staging areas, and empty cart/bin storage.
  • Implement new layouts of the supermarket, ensuring a smooth transition and effective utilization of the optimized space.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or materials management environment.
  • Strong understanding of visual management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized supermarket environment.
  • Knowledge of Kanban Point of Order (KPO) systems; training provided.
