About the position

The position involves supervising on-site construction projects, acting as the General Contractor's representative, and ensuring that projects are completed according to design, budget, and schedule. The role requires regular travel and collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors, to maintain project documentation and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and comply with the requirements of the Site Startup Checklist as directed by the quality manager for technical services.
  • Review and understand the project's contract documents, including drawings and written specifications.
  • Participate in constructability reviews of the documents to understand the design intent.
  • Establish site logistics, including the fulfillment of the Site Startup Checklist.
  • Document the field record of the project by recording and distributing Daily Reports, Meeting Minutes, and other pertinent documentation as directed by the CM/PM.
  • Supervise the construction effort, including craft employees and subcontractors, to ensure the project is constructed per design, budget, and schedule.
  • Supervise onsite functions such as scheduling, sequencing, engineering, material control, and safety.
  • Provide weekly 2-week Look Ahead scheduling, communicating immediate field tasking.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project site rules and regulations, document all violations, notify project management, and recommend and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Evaluate and comment on subcontractors' requests for payment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification is required.
  • Five years of Data Center experience as a site supervisor or project engineer, including experience with mechanical and electrical system installation.
  • Previous experience in construction and/or craft supervision experience in construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations, safety regulations, and building trade terminology.
  • Experience in construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Ability to prepare, maintain, and manage all on-site project documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods.
