About the position

The Superintendent Maintenance position at Linde in Geismar, LA, is responsible for leading the maintenance execution team, overseeing routine and major maintenance activities across multiple facilities in the Southeast US. This role involves ensuring safety and efficiency in maintenance operations, managing work orders, and implementing improvements to achieve cost-effective results. The Superintendent acts as the primary interface between operations and maintenance personnel, prioritizing and scheduling work notifications while fostering a culture of safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance execution team and set direction for personnel development.
• Oversee and coordinate routine and major maintenance activities across multiple facilities.
• Act as the primary interface for Operations with maintenance personnel and engineering.
• Approve, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work notifications.
• Ensure safety and efficiency of service personnel on site.
• Manage maintenance and operations work orders, including creation, prioritization, and closure.
• Optimize maintenance execution practices and procedures for cost-effective results.
• Lead planned and unplanned unit shutdowns, including job plans and scheduling.
• Review execution quality and efficiency regularly.
• Assist in developing maintenance budgets and control spending.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in maintenance repairs, engineering, and reliability activities.
• Strong leadership capabilities and ability to develop others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detailed understanding of equipment and plant manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health procedures.
• Understanding of mechanical and instrument equipment maintenance and inspection processes.
• Technical competencies in troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
