About the position

The position involves planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating operations at Freeport-McMoRan's Bagdad operations in Arizona. Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate assigned operations including daily production and safety.
• Supervise through Senior Supervisors and direct staff in daily operations.
• Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Inspect daily operations and projects to ensure quality of work.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to staff and interpret regulatory policies.
• Oversee the selection of key staff and participate in hiring processes.
• Work with employees to correct deficiencies and implement disciplinary procedures.
• Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials, and capital improvement projects.
• Submit budget recommendations and monitor expenditures.
• Develop, plan, and coordinate work plans for assigned projects and responsibilities.
• Provide information and resources to site officials and answer public inquiries.
• Review Capital Improvement Plans and make recommendations.
• Evaluate infrastructure and operating systems for maintenance needs.
• Coordinate activities of consultants and contractors.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with seven years of related operational experience, including supervisory experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with three years of related operational experience.
• Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, direct, and manage diverse operational areas and projects.
• Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring, and administering budgets.
• Ability to develop awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.

• Caterpillar equipment maintenance experience.
• Mining equipment tire maintenance experience.
• Lubrication/Fuel dock management experience.
• P&H equipment maintenance experience (2800/4100 shovel).
• Epiroc equipment maintenance experience.
