About the position

The Superintendent at CF Industries is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a liquid fertilizer storage and handling facility. This position focuses on ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence while managing a team and complying with regulatory standards. The superintendent plays a vital role in the safe storage and timely distribution of products, particularly hazardous materials like NH3, and is committed to employee and community safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all facets of facility operation with a primary focus on safety and reliability.
  • Ensure timely and cost-efficient receipt and shipment of products.
  • Coordinate and administer all emergency, preventative, and contract maintenance.
  • Provide leadership to facility personnel and evaluate their work.
  • Administer recordkeeping including shipping and receiving documentation and product quality records.
  • Train and develop Operators, Supervisors, and Clerks in safe operations.
  • Comply with all CF, Federal, State, and local regulations and maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation as required (i.e., OSHA, DOT, State).
  • Assist in troubleshooting at the facility as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Experience with NH3 storage and handling and/or dry product warehousing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance procedures, particularly compressors and pumps.
  • Experience managing people and processes.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with business use of personal computers for order processing.
