About the position
The Project Superintendent is responsible for effectively managing all activities on construction projects, ensuring adherence to cost control, project specifications, jobsite safety, and quality production. The role involves directing and coordinating construction crews and subcontractors, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule while maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule foremen and subcontractors
- Assist estimators and engineers with quantities and productions
- Develop and maintain positive client relations with owners, clients, consultants, and the public
- Coach, supervise, and train foreman and field employees on project sites
- Establish performance and production goals for project teams
- Confer with management, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve methods
- Manage all construction activities in accordance with contract specifications and drawings
- Execute construction activities in compliance with the applicable schedule and budget
- Review project performance continuously and recommend corrective actions to the project manager
- Implement company policies and procedures
- Assist with on-the-job training
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of contracts, specifications, and reports
- Ability to think independently and solve problems effectively
- OSHA Competent person certification
- Excellent driving record
