About the position

The Superintendent for Field Operations at Structure Tone is responsible for overseeing construction projects in New York City. This role involves managing project schedules, ensuring quality control, and supervising subcontracted workforces. The Superintendent will collaborate with Project Managers and client representatives to review project progress and ensure safety standards are met on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule and maintains reports accurately describing project status.
• Responsible for timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted workforces for construction projects.
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives regularly.
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
• Directs subcontractor activities within commercial fit-outs for interior projects.
• Analyzes manpower, material, and equipment requirements, interfacing with others as designated by the supervising superintendent.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures, and related work rules established by field construction management.
• Prepares reports and forecasts as required, keeping supervisors informed on the progress of overall assigned activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of field experience in commercial projects, with high-end amenities experience being a plus.
• Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent.
• Well-developed communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills are required.
