About The Position

The West Morris Regional High School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to serve as the superintendent, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the excellence of its two high schools, West Morris Central and West Morris Mendham. The superintendent will lead the district in achieving academic success, fostering a high-performing culture, and ensuring effective communication with the community and the Board of Education.

Requirements

• NJ Superintendent Certification
• 5+ years educational leadership at the high school and/or central office level
• Assistant superintendent or superintendent preferred
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Drive student success
• Recruit, mentor and retain excellent teachers
• Regularly liaise with the community
• Advise and partner with the Board of Education
• Support board meetings
• Drive district goals
• Lead change
• Foster engaged employees and a high performing culture
• Serve as public relations director
• Oversee development of a budget designed for sustained excellence in the face of the 2% tax cap
• Act on own discretion to address any matter not covered by policy and requiring immediate action
• Manage a central office staff and principals
• Support teachers
• Serve as face of district for parents and communities
• Partner with sending districts to ensure alignment on curriculum and expectations for student preparedness and progression
• Ensure effective management of consultants, vendors and contractors
