About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our team at No Name Precision, LLC in San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining CNC programs using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. This role requires extensive knowledge of CNC machining and programming, as well as experience with precision measuring instruments and tooling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, particularly in the aerospace or automotive industry, and will be adept at interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate part design and manufacturing. In this position, you will design and develop CNC programs to meet production requirements, utilizing CAM software such as Mastercam or Catia. You will also be responsible for verifying part dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers. Collaboration with production staff is essential to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently. Additionally, you will develop and maintain documentation for CNC programs, including setup sheets and machining instructions. Your knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) and lathe machining will be crucial in creating complex parts. Operating CNC machines, including coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), will also be part of your responsibilities. Staying up-to-date with the latest CNC programming techniques and software updates is vital, as is participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce waste.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in CNC programming, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles.
  • Experience with CAM programming software, such as Mastercam or Catia.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation and maintenance, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) and lathe machining.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet tight deadlines.
