About the position

The Supervising Early Childhood Development Educator at Penn State University Park is responsible for creating and providing high-quality learning environments for children aged 3 to 5 years. This role involves planning and delivering developmentally appropriate educational experiences, maintaining a safe and stimulating classroom, and fostering positive relationships with families. The educator will work collaboratively with a teaching team to support the social, physical, and intellectual growth of young children while adhering to state early learning standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, deliver, and facilitate developmentally appropriate experiences for children.
• Prepare lesson plans that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Integrate curriculum into daily routines and assessments, individualizing experiences to meet student needs.
• Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment, maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
• Create learning materials and aids for classroom activities.
• Develop and facilitate assessments to monitor student progress.
• Maintain student records and prepare reports on their development.
• Supervise classroom team members, aides, interns, and students, completing evaluations as necessary.
• Maintain communication with parents, providing guidance and establishing individual student goals.
• Support and promote child and family diversity by integrating family culture and language into the curriculum.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in early childhood education.
• PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and National Sex Offender Registry Clearance.
• Health physical with TB test required prior to starting.
