About the position

Fortune is looking for a supervising producer of development. In this role you will serve as a point person for new proposals and pitches for the video and audio team, manage direct reports, and help develop and pilot future series, features and new audio/video products, working in close collaboration with the entire newsroom and events team. You will function as a liaison for the video and audio team's ideas in concert with the newsroom and events team. You will assist in the launch of new initiatives and, at times, support the production of current productions, all in service to ensuring our video offering is strong and consistent in its quality. Top candidates for this role will have excellent editorial judgment and strong production experience. Collaboration, decisiveness and clear communication skills are critical. We are seeking a producer with a track record of pitching, developing, field producing and elevating original series. This position will be based in our New York office and reports to the Head of Video.

Responsibilities

  • Help to conceptualize new shows and series.
  • Produce pilots, both on paper and then once greenlit, through production.
  • Manage production, post-production, and program distribution for new series, ensuring all projects meet editorial and production standards and schedules.
  • Prepare pitch decks for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use data-driven content analysis to measure success and improve iterations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of editorial experience in a newsroom environment.
  • Demonstrated soup-to-nuts experience and success developing and launching series, from conception to rollout.
  • Strong news judgment and a deep understanding of, and interest in, business news and current events.
  • Excellent writing, editing and organizational skills.
