About the position

The Supervising Program Coordinator position at the Michigan Immigration Resource Center (MIRC) is a full-time role focused on supporting immigration legal services. The coordinator will oversee administrative tasks, manage grant reporting, and supervise legal assistants and paralegals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team. This role is integral to advancing the mission of providing legal aid to immigrant communities and advocating for systemic solutions to issues faced by low-income individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of MIRC's immigration legal services work.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys.
  • Supervise legal assistants, paralegals, and community resource coordinators.
  • Track and manage grant reporting and requirements.
  • Maintain program databases and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Track deadlines for cases.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • An associate's degree or equivalent educational and professional experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with major software and web services including Word, Excel, and G Suite.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access and other data management software is preferred.
  • Experience related to immigration and poverty is prioritized.

Nice-to-haves
