About the position

The position is responsible for overseeing research personnel and ensuring efficient academic research practices. It involves training staff, managing research studies, and maintaining regulatory compliance while fostering professional development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all assigned research personnel.
  • Train new research staff in department research and administrative procedures.
  • Evaluate staff performance and support their further education.
  • Organize and manage complex research studies and programs.
  • Review sponsored research applications and protocols for feasibility.
  • Seek out new research opportunities.
  • Participate in study site selection activities.
  • Prepare and submit sponsored research applications and reports to sponsors and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop recruitment and screening procedures with study investigators.
  • Compose recruitment documents such as letters and brochures.
  • Work with the SPA office and Principal Investigators to complete required elements of sponsored research applications.
  • Create study documents and management tools.
  • Maintain study and regulatory documentation.
  • Manage study timelines and ensure completion of milestones.
  • Mentor research coordinators, nurses, assistants, and other clinical staff.
  • Design and provide training programs for clinical and academic research staff.
  • Travel to investigator meetings or protocol-specific training.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders throughout the study.
  • Prepare grants for funding department research.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Master's degree and/or 10 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and office software skills required.
  • Certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) required.
