About the position

The Supervisor of Accounting at McLaren Health Management Group is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory accounting staff. This role includes ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards, preparing financial reports, and monitoring departmental performance. The supervisor serves as a key resource for problem-solving and provides guidance to staff in complex situations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Laboratory accounting team to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of financial reports that summarize and forecast the laboratory's financial operations.
  • Assist with financial audits conducted by regulatory agencies and independent auditors.
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks.
  • Provide highly responsive and user-friendly customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in how to produce the total end product of assigned function and maintain proficiency of use regarding organizational products.
  • Assist staff in handling difficult situations, answering questions, interpreting plan language, and guiding them with resolution of complex issues.
  • Lead according to established policies, procedures and guidelines using tools provided in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Assist with financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with the monthly general ledger transactions and preparation of the financial statements.
  • Assist with Financial Audits.
  • Other duties as assigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operations of the department and the Company as a whole.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or health care related field.
  • Two (2) years' experience in accounting roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, financial management and analysis principles and techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous health care experience.
