About the position

The Supervisor, Fixed Asset Accounting plays a crucial role in overseeing the fixed asset accounting process within the Group Accounting & Process team. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards, maintaining the integrity of financial statements, and supervising an analyst. The role involves collaboration with various teams to address accounting queries and implement necessary changes, contributing to the overall efficiency of the fixed asset department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees, providing them with the tools and knowledge to achieve their goals.
  • Motivate and develop the analyst, providing formal and informal feedback.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accounting for fixed assets and the utilization of SAP Asset Management Module.
  • Ensure all regular accounting activities are completed in adherence to company policies and accounting deadlines.
  • Develop strong relationships with business teams to address questions and find solutions.
  • Work with the Accounting Manager and Director to implement changes to depreciable lives and methods.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory & Revenue Requirement teams on reporting requests.
  • Oversee and execute projects to create efficiencies within the fixed asset department.
  • Establish and document existing and new processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors to identify potential risks and apply solutions.
  • Work with external auditors to meet their audit needs regarding fixed assets and related controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and develop new controls as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 years of experience in industry or public accounting relevant to job requirements.
  • Sound understanding of US GAAP and its application.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the corporate hierarchy.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to interact with Senior Management.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with management oversight.

  • CPA license and/or graduate business degree.
