The Supervisor - Aircraft Maintenance position at United Airlines involves overseeing and coordinating all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with company, regulatory, and manufacturers' procedures.
  • Assign aircraft maintenance technicians and related personnel to maximize productivity and cost control.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the on-shift labor workforce to maximize productivity and output.
  • Build and reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of work rules and company policies.
  • Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals.
  • Maintain awareness of operational, safety, and human resource performance objectives.
  • Oversee safety and security of aircraft and operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain high communication levels with employee groups within the station.
  • Report status of operations and significant events to leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years in the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • FAA A&P Certificate.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or comparable work experience.
  • 2 years in a leadership role within a maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce.
  • A proven successful track record.
  • Strong background and technical knowledge on fleet types operated and maintenance programs.
