About the position

The Supervisor, Building Maintenance at Lewis and Clark Community College is responsible for overseeing the building maintenance team, ensuring efficient operations, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager on various projects. This role involves performing journey-level work in maintenance, repair, and remodeling of campus facilities, while also exemplifying leadership and promoting safety and teamwork among staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise building maintenance team members and coordinate with the Facilities Manager on projects.
  • Perform journey-level work in the maintenance, repair, and remodeling of buildings and equipment.
  • Exhibit leadership and compassion for campus team members while ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Coordinate weekly work schedules of team members via work order system and Campus Events calendars.
  • Consult regularly with the Campus Logistics Supervisor and Facility Manager to address team and campus needs.
  • Notify Facilities Manager and Director of Campus Operations of any issues that arise.
  • Ensure team members participate in safety training as appropriate.
  • Maintain an up-to-date deferred maintenance list for all campuses.
  • Maintain all equipment, tools, and assigned vehicles in good condition.
  • Ensure building and campus safety for all occupants, including debris and snow removal as needed.
  • Requisition materials through proper channels to complete assigned jobs.
  • Act as a liaison for team members in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
  • Assist team in general maintenance duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Technical School with Certificate of Proficiency in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical.
  • Minimum of five years' related work experience in a similar setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use good judgment and critical thinking.
  • Flexibility in schedule to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator license.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work any or all shifts assigned.
  • Ability to travel independently.
