About the position

The Chick-fil-A Supervisor at Utah Valley University is a part-time role focused on leading day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills while working in a dynamic university environment, closely collaborating with the Chick-fil-A Manager to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the operation to meet University, Dining Services, and customer needs.
  • Hires, trains, and schedules employees for food operations; trains employees on customer service and cash handling procedures.
  • Develops work schedules for service personnel, enforces adherence to schedules, and evaluates employee performance.
  • Ensures all workers have current Food Handler Permits and performs duties according to health department guidelines.
  • Orders food commodities for operation and verifies their receipt.
  • Handles customer problems that arise, focusing on client satisfaction and service.
  • Establishes and maintains food handling and safety standards for the Food Services operation.
  • Monitors food handling and safety standards and ensures compliance with established standards.
  • Evaluates sales and marketing plans and adjusts for seasonal business fluctuations.
  • Audits cash handling procedures and takes appropriate action when necessary.
  • Observes price fluctuations in food cost and informs the Director.
  • Initiates action plans from reports and financial statements to maintain fiscal operational success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and/or experience totaling 4 years.
  • Must have and be willing to obtain a current Utah County Food Handlers permit or Servsafe Food Managers Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Any combination of education and/or experience totaling two years related to the summary of duties.
