About the position

The Supervisor Clinical Pharmacist Review position at Prime Therapeutics involves managerial and clinical oversight of the Clinical Pharmacist and Registered Nurse Review Team. This role is crucial for medical and pharmacy management, focusing on enhancing clinical performance, supporting provider experiences, and achieving operational objectives. The supervisor is responsible for day-to-day activities, performance management, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while delivering superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the daily performance of a team of Clinical Pharmacist and Registered Nurse Reviewers.
  • Provide feedback and improvements in daily workflow with technicians/nurses/pharmacists.
  • Collect and provide timely, productive and measurable feedback to ensure recognition, process changes and development opportunities are maximized.
  • Oversee the team's annual goal setting process, performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
  • Review new and updated client accounts, medications and policies with pharmacists.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction on achieving departmental standards while promoting customer loyalty and revenue generation.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound call traffic and adjust based on call traffic patterns.
  • Participate in process/project conversations to improve effectiveness for clients and agents.
  • Display ownership and accountability for customer experience and employee relations.
  • Support team members and business initiatives to achieve outstanding client experiences.
  • Maintain reliability and flexibility to support team and business needs.
  • Proactively address call center concerns and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Monitor agents for quality and training purposes.
  • Handle system emergencies with direction from IT or appropriate vendors.
  • Conduct daily authorization reviews considering health plan requirements.
  • Coordinate with Initial Review Pharmacy Technician team as needed.
  • Produce monthly team reports detailing activity, trend analysis, and goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Managed care pharmaceutical service experience with coaching on medication issues.
  • Knowledge of current clinical research related to specialty medications.
  • Strong clinical research and implementation skills in practical settings.
  • Analytic skills for practical recommendations.
  • Strong clinical expertise to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Strong team orientation and respect for all members.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Essential people skills for consultation with physicians and collaboration with external vendors.
  • Comfortable using computers and the internet.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary systems quickly.
  • 2+ years of specialty pharmacy and oncology experience.
  • Experience in managed care or pharmaceutical sales management.
  • Management experience in coordinating work teams.
