About the position

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing construction projects related to crude oil tank, marine, rail, and pipeline facilities. This role involves project management, construction management, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while coordinating with contractors and company personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and oversees construction projects for crude oil tank, marine, rail, and pipeline facilities.
  • Works closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure successful project completion.
  • Ensures completion of project documentation in accordance with Plains regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates and manages construction efforts with Contractors and Company personnel to ensure safety, timely project completion, high quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Enforces company's policies and standards during construction.
  • Provides support to Operations personnel on construction, tie-ins, and commissioning of capital expansion projects.
  • Evaluates constructability during the design review process.
  • Reads and reviews all related project bid documents and aids in the selection of a contractor.
  • Reviews schedules and tracks schedule progress.

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum project/construction management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in pipeline and facility construction including petroleum pipelines, above ground storage tanks, docks, rail terminals, and related appurtenances.
  • Understanding of ANSI and API Industry Construction Standards.
  • Experience with PHMSA, DOT, USCG, DEQ, USACE regulations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with non-destructive evaluation methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle).
  • Ability to maintain budget cost records and track expenditures.
