About the position

As the Operations Supervisor at Sephora's Mississippi Distribution Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our stores are stocked with the right products at the right time. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will spend approximately 75% of your time on the operational floor, engaging with associates and providing coaching, teaching, and performance feedback. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of a department within the Distribution Center, focusing on productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping. You will be responsible for planning work effectively to meet established timelines and ensuring that your team is prepared for a smooth transition between shifts. In this role, you will drive results by setting clear expectations for your team members regarding productivity and operational goals. You will supervise a team of skilled employees, including temporary agency workers, and will be tasked with identifying and prioritizing daily tasks to meet business objectives. Your ability to cultivate creativity and disruptiveness will be essential as you work to improve efficiency and quality by identifying process improvements and collaborating with leadership to implement changes. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering a safe work environment by driving safety strategies and holding team members accountable. You will also play a key role in supporting Sephora's engagement strategies by observing and coaching employees on job-related activities and providing timely feedback. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a flexible availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. You will also need to adhere to Sephora's policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with associates on the operational floor, providing coaching and performance feedback.

  • Administer policies and guidelines fairly, addressing performance and behavioral concerns.

Requirements

  • Prior equivalent work experience in supply-chain operations or a similar capacity.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Comfortable with computer/store systems and technology.
  • Resilience and adaptability to changing priorities and situations.
  • Flexible availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for the entire shift.
