About the position

The Supervisor, Field Customer Service role at One Gas involves overseeing employees engaged in field customer service activities. This position is responsible for directing daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing assistance to various stakeholders regarding gas service issues. The supervisor will also investigate incidents related to gas service and conduct safety training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees performing field customer service work.
  • Direct employees in daily operations of field customer service activities including prioritizing orders and scheduling workforce.
  • Manage turn-ons and turn-offs of gas service.
  • Oversee meter changes and gas leakage detection.
  • Assist customers, contractors, and officials with code interpretation and compliance, pipe sizing, and venting requirements.
  • Investigate major incidents involving gas service, including leaks and explosions.
  • Assist local fire officials with investigations related to gas incidents.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for employees.
  • Compile and verify customer service summaries, accident reports, and employee documentation.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of experience performing customer service field functions.
  • Working knowledge of company and governmental operating/safety policies related to customer service activities.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze incidents involving customer complaints and safety issues.
  • Experience using tools and equipment applicable to the position, including computers.
  • Basic math skills for application in the role.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, especially in emergency situations.
  • Experience in advising, training, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop information and make presentations.
  • Experience in researching, composing, and compiling reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information, including regulations and manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead work assignments.
