About the position

The Supervisor Financial Program Administrator position at the Department of Veterans Affairs involves overseeing various operational programs within the Fiscal Service of the VA Augusta Healthcare System. The incumbent will manage programs such as Customer Service, Travel Card Management, Employee Travel, Agent Cashier, and Payroll services, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with established policies. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to support the Fiscal Service's objectives and provide guidance to the Executive Team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Coordinate and solve problems with senior officials, executive leadership, and various staff on program priorities and procedures.
  • Oversee the administration of day-to-day activities of the programs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to the Fiscal Officer and Executive Team, providing guidance and monitoring implementation.
  • Develop databases and information management systems to support benchmarking of data, including financial data and workload.
  • Act as a liaison with contacts across various levels of the organization and with other government agencies and contractors.
  • Provide timely advice and review the appropriate travel budget ceilings established by the Medical Center Director.
  • Serve as the Agency Organization Program Coordinator and the US Bank VISA Travel Card Coordinator.
  • Prepare analysis reports to monitor productivity and workload for operations.
  • Oversee customer service activities and develop policies and procedures for efficient office operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be able to serve a probationary period if required.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • Participation in the COVID-19 vaccination program is required for all Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • Time-In-Grade Requirement: Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09 level for eligibility.
