About the position
The Supervisor of Freight Forwarding Operations at UPS is responsible for overseeing the movement and growth opportunities for inbound and outbound cargo for freight forwarding customers. This role ensures compliance with governmental regulations and collaborates with various stakeholders to manage the flow of goods effectively. The supervisor will lead a team, making key workforce decisions and optimizing efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and evaluate the performance of a team or multiple teams in freight forwarding operations.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations related to freight processing.
- Collaborate with vendors, customers, and carriers for the movement of international and domestic shipments.
- Coordinate work across the organization to optimize efficiency.
- Make key workforce decisions including hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions.
- Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in Freight Forwarding (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent UPS experience (preferred).
- Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate.
