The Supervisor, II Account position at U.S. Xpress is responsible for overseeing and developing drivers for assigned accounts, ensuring customer service issues are addressed, and managing shipments to meet customer needs. The role emphasizes safety, performance metrics, and effective communication to enhance customer satisfaction and driver loyalty while maximizing company profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop all drivers for assigned accounts.
  • Address customer service issues or complaints.
  • Manage shipments to meet customer needs and demands.
  • Promote safety metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Supervise driver performance to balance business and driver needs.
  • Utilize High Performance Coaching to coach drivers on performance expectations.
  • Ensure high service levels for customers through effective communication.
  • Maximize company profitability through appropriate equipment utilization.
  • Handle sensitive issues and driver disputes effectively.
  • Plan driver loads based on availability and performance.
  • Coordinate with drivers on physicals and drug screens.
  • Utilize systems such as AS400 and XPM for productivity.
  • Collaborate with operational and support departments.
  • Build credibility and trust among managed employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of operations experience including customer service, fleet management, or load planning preferred.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, and/or supervisory roles is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations preferred.
