About the position

The Supervisor IT Real-Time Transmission Operations Support role at APS involves leading a dynamic team responsible for the performance and reliability of real-time energy transmission systems. The supervisor will oversee the Energy Management System (EMS), ensuring compliance with operational standards while managing data effectively. This position emphasizes team leadership, continuous improvement, and training development to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and guidance to a skilled team, overseeing work assignments, progress, and quality.
• Support, inspect, and verify EMS operations, ensuring compliance with operational standards and acceptance criteria.
• Lead end-to-end processes for master data management, optimizing workflows, and supporting the design and enhancement of tools for data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and system performance.
• Implement comprehensive training programs for new hires and oversee the development and maintenance of a robust departmental knowledge base.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in information and/or communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Considerable knowledge of electric power production business.
• Working knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Energy Management System (EMS).
• Familiarity with regulatory agencies including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North America Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).
