About the position

The Supervisor - Lipids/GC position at Eurofins Scientific involves assisting in the supervision of general department operations, ensuring adherence to quality measures, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role requires collaboration with other department heads, guidance on procedures, and oversight of manual and instrumental analysis. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, reviewing test data for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervision of general department operations and interface with other department heads.
  • Provide guidance on procedures, analysis methods, techniques, equipment, and schedules.
  • Adhere to quality measures that meet or exceed ISO/IEC 17025 standards and company requirements.
  • Ensure staff adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in instruction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance of manual and instrumental analysis.
  • Operate equipment and perform minor instrument repairs.
  • Establish and implement procedures for equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Assist in the development and writing of analysis methods and protocols.
  • Review and evaluate test data for technical accuracy and compliance with SOP and cGMP.
  • Perform analysis and record test data in logbooks and eLIMS.
  • Assist in writing and reviewing protocols and reports.
  • Communicate methods and results with client service personnel to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate services and recommend improvements for testing procedures and equipment.
  • Monitor turnaround times and keep Laboratory Manager informed of deviations.
  • Delegate responsibilities to employees and ensure understanding of tasks.
  • Maintain document control including worksheets and records of method validation studies.
  • Administer and direct training of technical staff on methods and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and approve or reject non-conformances and assist in corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science field, preferably in Chemistry.
  • 1-5 years of applicable laboratory experience, including project design and review.
  • Basic understanding of GLP and ISO 17025 guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and independent problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or coursework in laboratory procedures, data analysis, computer operations, mathematics, and technical/business writing.
