About the position

The Supervisor - Logistics position at Microchip involves overseeing day-to-day shipping functions, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with freight forwarders. Responsibilities

  • Handle all day-to-day shipping functions, including packaging and labeling.
  • Contact freight forwarders for pickups and manage packing products for shipment.
  • Produce documentation required for export compliance.
  • Responsible for receiving production, expense, RMA, and virtual items.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on efficiency, cost-reduction, and quality.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure achievement of goals.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for corrective action to the manager.
  • Perform other projects, duties, or cross-training responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of industry experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, or distribution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with cross-functional team members.
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and has a results-based mindset.
  • International and freight forwarding shipping experience.
  • Familiarity with export regulations and willingness to obtain Dangerous Goods certification.
  • Experience working with an ERP system and Agile methodology.
  • Minimum 3 years working knowledge of UPS and FedEx online shipping systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 3-5 years of experience in management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent US Residency required.
