About the position

The Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of non-exempt, technically skilled employees to meet daily performance objectives within a production environment. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, mentoring technicians, managing maintenance operations, and implementing process improvements to enhance reliability and throughput. The Supervisor will also oversee inventory control, regulatory compliance, and technician evaluations, while serving as a key communication point for mechanical issues and maintenance events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead non-exempt, technically skilled employees to achieve daily performance requirements and objectives.
  • Administer established policies and procedures ensuring compliance with company and departmental guidelines.
  • Mentor existing and new hire technicians, providing evaluations of their progress as required.
  • Serve as the CenterPoint for communications related to mechanical breakdowns and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform inventory and control functions to ensure adequate parts and materials are available to mitigate downtime.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance for established PM activities and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Evaluate newly hired technicians, documenting their progress and ensuring required training is completed.
  • Identify process improvements through Lean processes to improve maintenance reliability and product throughput.
  • Plan and schedule workloads to support a safe working environment and reliable building operations.
  • Review work orders for completeness and accuracy, tracking high priority items from inception to completion.
  • Monitor and track technician time and attendance, managing budget performance and variances related to component assets and technician overtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or engineering preferred.
  • 10 years of maintenance experience and 5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong management, administrative, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly analyze problems and resolve them efficiently.
  • Experience in developing maintenance policies and standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in Electro-Mechanical Controls, Pneumatics, Electricity, and Hydraulics.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple work applications related to product conveyance.
  • Demonstrable experience with CMMS applications, particularly E-Maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain documentation and track unresolvable issues and failures.
  • Experience generating performance reports and utilizing root cause analysis (RCA) with Lean concepts.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs and VFDs, as well as motors and conveyance drive systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications and CAD drawings.
  • Experience with project management, including planning, scheduling, and reporting.
