About the position

The Supervisor of Maintenance Planning at Frontier Airlines plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient planning of various maintenance activities, including RON Maintenance, Line Maintenance, and Special Maintenance Visits (SMV). This position is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of maintenance events, which may include complex tasks such as engine changes and modifications. The Supervisor will work closely with Maintenance Planning Leadership to develop and modify both long-term and short-term aircraft maintenance schedules, taking into account the availability of staffing, required tooling, equipment, parts, materials, and the necessary skill sets to complete assigned tasks. Effective communication and coordination with multiple departments, including Line Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, Materials, and Purchasing, are essential to facilitate the timely execution of maintenance events. In this role, the Supervisor will consistently evaluate and modify existing planned maintenance events, ensuring that all routine and non-routine tasks are scheduled appropriately. This includes managing a sliding window of planning requirements and coordinating daily workloads across all Frontier maintenance facilities. The Supervisor will also be responsible for reviewing and communicating the need for parts and tooling for maintenance tasks, ensuring that all necessary resources are available to meet scheduled maintenance deadlines. Additionally, the Supervisor will assist in budget preparations for the Line Planning department and help maintain the online Maintenance Planning System, providing training and technical knowledge to the planning team. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to create statistical forecasts to improve maintenance planning accuracy. The Supervisor will supervise a team of Planners, ensuring that all personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their assigned tasks. This role is vital to maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of Frontier Airlines' fleet, contributing to the company's mission of delivering low fares done right while providing a friendly and efficient travel experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently plan RON Maintenance, Line Maintenance, and Special Maintenance Visits (SMV).
  • Review, develop, and modify long-term and short-term aircraft maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Line Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, Materials, and Purchasing.
  • Evaluate and modify existing planned maintenance events using the Maintenance Due Report.
  • Coordinate daily workload and special maintenance visits through calls with maintenance facilities.
  • Review MEL items for required parts and communicate needs to MCC.
  • Coordinate with Material Services and AOG to ensure timely arrival of required parts.
  • Plan and coordinate daily workload for efficient use of staff and facilities.
  • Assist with budget preparations for the Line Planning department.
  • Maintain the online Maintenance Planning System and provide training to staff.
  • Plan and schedule work compliance on all EOs, EAs, and FCDs issued by Engineering.
  • Supervise department Planners and maintain rosters and vacation schedules.
  • Participate in daily fleet-wide mechanical status briefings.

Requirements

  • FAA A&P license and/or 5 years of relatable aviation experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • College degree (preferred).
