About the position

The Supervisor, New Store Openings and Operations is responsible for overseeing teams and projects that facilitate the opening of new stores for Ross and dd's, as well as managing store relocations and repairs. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure operational support, adherence to project timelines, and the execution of business processes, all while maintaining high service levels to stores.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of project leads and project coordinators in planning new stores, relocations, and repairs.
  • Owns project timelines and budgets, creating project plans and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Reviews installer bids and recommends project allocations for leadership approval.
  • Manages pre-opening preparations, ensuring all fixtures are ordered and installation schedules are published.
  • Validates site conditions and resolves logistics concerns for timely delivery of fixtures and equipment.
  • Ensures kickoff meetings are accurate and action items are addressed.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for field leaders and store managers during project execution.
  • Supervises installation of fixtures and signage, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Identifies and escalates potential risks to project timelines and budgets, leading resolution plans.
  • Tracks project costs and provides updates to finance partners and management.
  • Manages the project punchlist and ensures effective project closeout.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required in business or related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in a related role
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of store operations and installation processes
  • Vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet
  • Ability to work in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments
  • Strong work ethic and urgency in resolving issues
