About the position

The position involves providing direct and indirect patient care services under a physician's plan, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory entities. The role includes managing daily operations, supervising staff, and coordinating patient care activities to maintain a safe environment. The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating patient care quality and effectiveness, facilitating resource utilization, and participating in continuing education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities to ensure effective operations and communications within departments.
  • Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
  • Review and monitor nursing care plans and direct staff to modify them as necessary.
  • Coordinate and participate in on-call responsibilities while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and participate in office-specific continuing education and orientation programs.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate them to management.
  • Participate in professional advisory committees and process improvement teams, including conducting chart audits.
  • Create a caring and welcoming environment for new employees.
  • Maintain open communication by listening, providing feedback, and involving employees in implementation processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 4 years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of nursing practice regulations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of patient rights and laws such as HIPAA
  • Strong clinical data analytic skills measuring process and outcomes in healthcare
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania

Nice-to-haves

  • Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course or passing score on the challenge exam
  • Achieve a passing score on basic proficiency in medication administration exam for external hires
