About the position

The Supervisor of Enterprise Data Integration at HonorHealth is a pivotal role that involves leading a team of interface developers to ensure seamless system-to-system integrations and real-time interoperability with external Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and third-party solution providers. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of data across various applications and sources within the organization. The supervisor will oversee the design, coding, testing, and implementation of interfaces according to established specifications, utilizing protocols such as HL7, TCPIP, XML, Web Services, and FHIR API. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to defined timelines and balancing various priorities. In addition to technical responsibilities, the supervisor will be responsible for the effective management and monitoring of the interface server environment from both an operating system and hardware perspective. This includes identifying and resolving issues related to interface messaging storage and ensuring the stability of data management and transfers across systems. The supervisor will also guide the interface development team in issue resolution, produce comprehensive documentation of operational integration development, and collaborate with vendors to coordinate efforts between application owners and integration support teams. The role demands strong leadership skills, as the supervisor will lead project calls, provide real-time feedback, and ensure smooth transitions of projects or user training. They will also be responsible for planning work allocation, resource availability, and forecasting future needs of the company. The supervisor will play a key role in hiring, onboarding, evaluating, and developing employees, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values. Additionally, they will be accountable for financial stewardship, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting other teams with data research and analysis as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of interface developers to deliver system-to-system integrations and real-time interoperability with external EMRs and third-party solution providers.
  • Oversee the design, coding, testing, and implementation of interfaces according to specifications using required protocols such as HL7, TCPIP, XML, Web Services, and FHIR API.
  • Manage the interface server environment from an operating system and hardware perspective, ensuring effective maintenance and monitoring.
  • Identify, report, and assist in remediating issues related to interface messaging storage and configuration settings.
  • Ensure stability of data management and transfers through systems, maintaining data integrity and facilitating error resolution.
  • Produce in-depth documentation of operational integration development, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate efforts between application owners and integration development teams.
  • Lead interface project calls, providing real-time feedback and timely follow-up correspondence.
  • Plan work allocation and resource availability for project completion, forecasting future needs of the company.
  • Review changes due to business needs or as part of the regular change control process.
  • Oversee staffing levels, including hiring, onboarding, evaluating, and managing performance of employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and accountability for the financial integrity of the department budget.
  • Support and collaborate with other teams on ad-hoc requests, data research, analyses, and regular reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related program.
  • 6+ years of experience in interface development and data integration, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • 3 years of experience with technologies such as Azure or AWS, and experience with Data Lake House or Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Experience with Databricks or Apache Spark.
  • 6 years of experience with HL7, XML, X12, 837/839, API, FHIR, Web Service, ETL architecture (Talend), and database design concepts.
