About the position

The Supervisor of Licensing is responsible for managing the Initial Licensing and Relicensing of foster homes in designated counties. This role involves evaluating and approving potential foster and adoptive homes, ensuring compliance with Florida licensure standards, and overseeing the retention and timely re-licensure of foster homes. The position also includes recruiting and training staff, managing performance, and maintaining databases related to licensing goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Initial Licensing and Relicensing of foster homes within assigned counties.
• Evaluate and approve potential foster and adoptive homes.
• Ensure compliance with Florida licensure standards and regulations.
• Recruit, interview, train, and manage performance of licensing staff.
• Provide supervisory review of child welfare certification tests completed by licensing staff.
• Review ICPC requests and provide first level KCI approval of Licensing packets submitted to DCF.
• Attend staffings with foster and/or adoptive home review committees.
• Develop and maintain databases related to initial and re-licensing goals and submission dates.
• Facilitate PRIDE classes and identify foster parents to co-facilitate these classes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in human services or child welfare.
• Child Protection Professional certification required.
• Current Background Clearance Screening Letter required.
• Valid Florida driver's license, insurable by agency's current insurance carrier.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience or foster home licensing experience preferred.
