About the position

The Office Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical settings by coordinating daily activities, supporting staff, and acting as a liaison between physicians and the team. This position is responsible for leadership, staff training, scheduling, compliance with policies, and enhancing patient care quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support in day-to-day operations within the clinical setting.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to by staff.
  • Completes and manages Physician and staff monthly schedules, including PTO requests.
  • Coordinates training for all staff and conducts annual performance evaluations.
  • Implements action plans for clinical quality improvement processes at the POD level.
  • Advances department technology and ensures proper use of Electronic Medical Records.
  • Takes a lead role in POD program development to enhance clinical services and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Ensures efficient office operations and compliance with SMG policies in collaboration with the physician POD Liaison.
  • Maintains and expands staff competencies through ongoing education programs.
  • Acts as a patient advocate and monitors departmental compliance with standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience required; 5-8 years preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform diverse work assignments with high accuracy under time limitations.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and protocols.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team with Physicians.

Nice-to-haves

  • COA Certification preferred for supervisory role within Ophthalmology.
