About the position

As a Production Planning Supervisor at ASM, you will lead a team responsible for translating build plans through the order fulfillment process to production. This role is critical in optimizing factory throughput and managing production orders, ensuring efficient operations within the semiconductor processing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a production planning team and coordinate day-to-day operations.
  • Manage all production order changes, including BOM changes/errors and lost/damaged items.
  • Oversee consumption planning and inventory control, ensuring BOMs are loaded and shortage reports are generated.
  • Establish processes for data integrity in the ERP system, including customer and vendor master data management.
  • Manage the production control team, ensuring alignment with the manufacturing team structure.
  • Coordinate closely with other manufacturing and spares plants for intercompany inventory transfers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on long-term production order scheduling and line capacity.
  • Drive efficiency gains in production and manufacturing management processes through automation.
  • Provide frequent executive-level updates on overall production statuses.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Work with manufacturing leaders to establish and maintain line-back KPIs and flow manufacturing principles.
  • Drive systemic reductions in BOM errors requiring WIP shop floor order changes.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a manufacturing operations-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a complex manufacturing, make-to-order production operations role, of which 3 should be in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proactive thinking with a can-do attitude - a self-starter, frequently taking the initiative to drive solutions to complex problems.
  • Project management experience and demonstrated capabilities in establishing project plans and delivering intended results.
  • Ability to understand, operate, and drive process improvement in the Production Planning module of SAP ECC 6.0.
  • Experience in high mix/low volume, engineer-to-order environments.
  • Capability of coaching and coordinating a team to an aggressive production schedule.
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization while maintaining focus on strategy and achievement of objectives.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
