About the position

The Supervisor of Program Finance at General Dynamics NASSCO is responsible for overseeing the Program Finance Department, which focuses on creating and maintaining Estimates at Complete for various projects. This role involves direct supervision of a team, advising senior management, and ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting for shipbuilding projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Program Financial Analysis Group and Ship Repair Cost Analysts.
• Track cost/EVMS performance and perform EAC analysis for New Construction, Ship Repair, and Study projects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive cost and schedule performance summaries by program, ship, availability, or study.
• Collaborate with Program Controls to maintain NASSCO's EVMS System.
• Oversee changes to goals and/or budgets, including various change order requests.
• Develop and track key cost/schedule performance metrics.
• Provide variance and trend analysis for labor and material performance.
• Interpret and model cost reporting requirements as identified by government contracts.
• Develop and maintain internal reports and metrics for performance status reviews.
• Work with program managers and cost account managers to identify cost problem areas.

Requirements

• Five years' experience in the shipbuilding industry or relatable field.
• Minimum three years of finance/cost business experience.
• Preferred knowledge of shipbuilding/repair processes and familiarity with NASSCO management systems or similar software.
• A Bachelor's degree; MBA and/or Certificate in Finance highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of MS-Office, including Access and Excel; SQL preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven skills as a facilitator, negotiator, and presenter.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with LMS, MAC-PAC, MMS, and SAP software.
