About the position

The Supervisor of Project Controls oversees a team of Project Controllers, ensuring effective cost control reporting and compliance with corporate financial guidelines. This role involves developing procedures for capital project cost controls, managing training for project controllers, and leading the management of project software modules. The position supports capital projects related to the New Generation group and provides strategic direction for the entire controls group, enhancing oversight of cost management and project performance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of Project Controllers in maintaining routine cost control reporting.
  • Ensure capital project controls are maintained per corporate and nuclear financial guidelines.
  • Verify project expenditures are within authorization and coordinate funding changes with Nuclear Finance.
  • Prepare and present monthly Project Status Reports.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for Capital Project Cost Controls.
  • Perform industry benchmarking for continuous improvement in cost control processes.
  • Lead management of Engage Project software module and direct vendor maintenance.
  • Ensure proper training and certification of Cost Controllers.
  • Provide cost control guidance to non-Project Management groups.
  • Supervise Technical Clerks in requisition and invoice processes.
  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations for all PSEG Controllers and manage performance of Contract Controllers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with financial controls related to large capital projects.
  • Proven experience in managing personnel and balancing workload.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, and SOX requirements.
  • Good understanding of inventory cost management as it relates to capitalization.
  • Knowledgeable in SAP or related business management software.
  • Good presentation skills.
