About the position

The Supervisor, Public Safety position at the University of Texas Police Department is responsible for planning and supervising the daily activities of Public Safety Officers. This role serves as the main contact for building occupants to resolve security and safety issues, while also maintaining and implementing policies and procedures to ensure safety and security. The supervisor will coordinate with police personnel, develop and evaluate staff, and respond to emergencies to safeguard institutional property.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily activities of UTPD Public Safety Officers and Senior Public Safety Officers.
• Act as the main contact for building occupants to resolve security and safety issues.
• Maintain and implement policies, procedures, and operational plans for safety and security.
• Coordinate with police personnel to maintain standards and effective communication.
• Develop, train, and evaluate personnel to meet professional standards and customer expectations.
• Safeguard institutional property through observation and patrol.
• Identify security issues and enforce institutional rules and regulations.
• Facilitate orderly responses to emergencies and evacuations.

Requirements

• Valid Texas Class A, B, or C driver's license.
• Minimum of two years of college preferred.
• Five years of experience in a security or related field, including two years of supervisory/team lead experience.
